Depending on who is available at #7, there still is a possibility Houston could send their three picks to New Jersey for that pick. If the New Jersey Nets pull off a trade sending Stephon Marbury to the Clippers for the #2 pick, they may be more willing to do so. Jonathan Feigen reported in the Houston Chronicle this morning that talks with the Nets were brief and did "not develop", largely because Rodney White will most likely not be available at #7. If White or Pau Gasol somehow slip (unlikely), those talks could re-surface. Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune writes in a column reporting the Wizards are pursuing Elton Brand that "The Nets also are in talks with the Rockets, who have been trying to move up and would trade their three picks for No. 7." However, the New York Daily News writes that the Marbury-Clippers trade is not happening and the Nets hope to take White themselves at #7.
