Clutchcity.net Notes on Terence Morris |
Terrance Morris did everything right. He stayed in school all four years despite being considered possibly a top 3 pick after his sophomore season. He helped Maryland go deep in the NCAA tourney. So, what happened? For a guy with as much raw talent, silky shooting stroke and solid defensive skills, he sure isn't rating very highly with scouts. Some question his inability to get his own shot. Others see him as to thin to play on the next level. Worst of all, some have said that he hasn't improved enough over his last two seasons to warrant a high ranking. So much for doing the right thing.

Strengths of Terence Morris |
A silky stroke from the perimeter, fluid movement without the ball and tough defense are what scouts talk about when they mention Morris. At 6'9", he has plenty of size to play the three on the NBA level and should be good enough to defend. He can knock down the three with consistency as well.

Weaknesses of Terence Morris |
The knock on Morris is that he hasn't shown any real improvement in his four years at Maryland. His frame is still on the thin side despite encouragement to bulk up. With his drop in stock, he has also seen a drop in confidence. What is most troubling to scouts is his lack of ability to be the number one option in an offense. Most feel he would be better as a complimentary player rather than a go-to guy.

Morris on the Rockets? |
Morris makes an interesting choice if you are Rudy T. He played with Steve Francis at Maryland and we can only assume Francis would love to be re-united with Morris. He does posess all the athletic tools and height for the type of small forward the Rockets need. On the other hand, how much is he worth? If Morris slides down to the Rockets last pick in the first round as many project he will, it wouldn't be a stretch to see him in pinstripes. It also would be no surprise to see him fall even further.
